Occupational Therapists support people in doing the things they need to do or want to do. If you're having trouble with day to day tasks, we may be able to help if you:
- Are an adult
- Have a physical disability
- Have a NDIS plan and are either self-managed or plan managed
- Located in or around the Toowoomba region
Home Modifications
Having an Occupational Therapist involved in prescribing home modifications is important as they are skilled in assessing and prescribing changes to the home that allow you to participate and complete everyday tasks according to your health, function and goals. We are able to complete comprehensive assessments of you, your home environment and how you use it. Once an assessment has been completed we can provide advice on modifications to increase your independence and safety in your day to day occupations. This process can involve liaising with builders, preparation of reports and plans, and submitting applications to funding bodies. We are able to assess for and prescribe a range of modifications, from simple to complex.
Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology are items that helps you to do something that you can't because of your disability and Occupational Therapists are trained to prescribe solutions for your specific needs. It may make you more independent, or allow you to complete an activity with greater ease or safety. Tailored OT can assess and prescribe equipment suited to your needs, to help you perform everyday tasks in either the home, community or workplace. We know that the right kind of assistive device can be the difference between connect and disconnect, that's why we work with you to find the right piece of equipment for you. We can arrange trials to check the suitability and fit for your needs. Once a solution has been found, we are able to prepare reports and applications to funding bodies for eligible clients.
Wheelchairs and Seating
Are you a wheelchair user? We can provide professional advice and prescription of wheelchair and seating solutions to suit you. This involves assessing you and your environments; where you need to go and what you need and want to do. In consultation with you, we arrange trialling of items to find a suitable match for you. We are able to prepare applications for submission to funding bodies for eligible clients.
